CTA Update
Phoenix (December 23, 2024) – By an order dated December 26, 2024, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has reinstated the nationwide injunction blocking enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). In doing so, the Court reversed its December 23, 2024, decision that had lifted the injunction imposed by the United States District Court in the case of Texas Top Cop Shop v. Garland.
In-Memoriam of William F. Haug
Our dear friend, partner and mentor William F. Haug (Bill to everyone) passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Bill will be remembered for his passion and commitment to family, the law, the bar, and service to his community.
CTA Update
Phoenix (December 6, 2024) – On December 3, 2024, in the case of Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc., et al. v. Merrick Garland, et al., the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas entered a nationwide preliminary injunction which enjoined the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) along with enforcement of the Reporting Rule issued under the CTA.
