Partners Joseph Brophy and Alana Porrazzo are Elected to State Bar of Arizona’s Construction Law Section’s Executive Council

PHOENIX — Jennings Haug Keleher McLeod is pleased to announce that Joe Brophy and Alana Porrazzo have been elected to serve on the State Bar of Arizona’s Construction Law Section’s Executive Council. Joe will serve as the Budget Officer for the 2022-2023 term and Alana will serve as a Member-at-Large from 2022–2024. Both Joe and Alana have previously served in other positions on the Council.  Their new positions and terms began on July 1, 2022.

Joe, a commercial litigation partner with the firm’s Phoenix office, focuses his practice on complex business disputes, construction law, surety and fidelity, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, appellate and insurance defense.  He is a frequent author of legal ethics columns for the Maricopa County Bar Association, serves on various committees for the American Bar Association and is a former member of the Arizona Veteran’s Service Advisory Commission.

Alana is a partner with the firm’s Phoenix office. She focuses her practice on surety and fidelity law, construction litigation, and securities litigation.  She defends bond claims and bad faith allegations, litigates performance defaults, prosecutes subrogation and indemnity claims and represents sureties in bankruptcy proceedings.  Alana also frequently writes and speaks on issues related to surety and fidelity law and bankruptcy matters.  Her securities practice emphasizes Financial Industry Regulatory Authority arbitrations and investigations by securities regulators.

The Construction Section of the State Bar of Arizona was formed in 1987 and currently has more than 400 members.  The Section’s Executive Council is responsible for planning the monthly lunch meeting and CLE programs as well as discussing and addressing various topics of concern to the Section and its business.  The Executive Council consists of a Chair, Chair-Elect, Past Chair, Secretary, Budget Officer and three Members-at-Large.
