He is preceded as a firm recipient of the award by William Haug, who received the honor in 2011.
The Martin J. Andrew Award for Lifetime Achievement in Fidelity and Surety Law is the highest award given by the TIPS Fidelity and Surety Law Committee. It is considered the pinnacle of achievement for anyone practicing fidelity and/or surety law.
For more than 45 years, Chad has focused his legal practice in commercial litigation with extensive experience in complex business disputes, surety and fidelity law, construction law and litigation, bankruptcy, and real estate disputes. He has been the practice leader for JKW’s surety and fidelity law group, representing insurance companies across the U.S., while growing the firm’s surety and fidelity law practice by engaging and mentoring attorneys.
A member of the American Bar Association for nearly four decades, Chad has actively served in a variety of roles, ranging from presenter, moderator and program chair at dozens of conferences across the nation to author, editor and contributor of some of the American Bar Association’s most successful and widely utilized legal reference manuals and publications. He served as the 2020 – 2021 chair of the association’s TIPS Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, following in the footsteps of William F. Haug who served as the committee’s chair from 1983-1984, and after several years on its leadership committee.
