Lauren M. Swol

Lauren represents both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation matters, including personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, insurance defense, and insurance bad faith cases. Lauren has represented clients before the New Mexico Court of Appeals and the New Mexico Supreme Court. Prior to joining JKW, Lauren practiced at a law firm specializing in fire and explosion litigation, where she represented a variety of product manufacturers, insurance companies, and Fortune 500 companies.

In addition to her litigation practice, Lauren is also a member of JKW’s environmental law practice group. Lauren’s environmental law practice focuses on representing industry leaders in federal and state Superfund enforcement and remediation matters throughout Arizona. While in law school at the University of Arizona, Lauren specialized in environmental law, earning her J.D. Certificate in Environmental Law, Science, and Policy. Lauren also gained practical experience through an externship with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office Natural Resources Section and through her work with the University of Arizona’s Natural Resource Use & Management Clinic. Lauren also completed a summer clerkship with a national environmental law nonprofit organization, engaging in both environmental litigation and environmental advocacy work. Her environmental advocacy work has involved giving testimony to federal agencies, including the EPA’s Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee.

Lauren was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to attending the University of Arizona James E Rogers College of Law, Lauren received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Northern Arizona University. While in law school, Lauren honed her legal writing capabilities, serving as a Writing Fellow for the Legal Research and Writing Program and as the Senior Note Editor of the Arizona Law Review. She also participated in several moot court competitions, earning awards for both oral argument and brief writing.

In her free time, Lauren is a voracious reader and an avid baker. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family while soaking up those quintessential Arizona sunsets.
