John Henry Verhoff

John Henry is an Associate Attorney based in JKW’s Denver office, where he focuses his practice on commercial litigation, labor and employment law, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, and surety.

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, John Henry earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, graduating with a double major in History and Economics. He then attended the University of Colorado Law School. While in law school, John Henry co-founded the Colorado Law chapter of the American Constitution Society, was a member of, and competed on Barristers’ Council – Moot Court division, served as an Articles Editor for the University of Colorado Environmental Law Journal, and won the 2024 George Bermant Award for Best Student Performance in Corporate Law.

Before joining JKW, John Henry worked as a law clerk at several Denver law firms, where he gained experience in both litigation and transactional practice. He also externed for the Honorable Elizabeth Brodsky, in the 20th Judicial District in Colorado. While working for Judge Brodsky, he helped draft a brief for the court on appeal before the Supreme Court of Colorado and worked on civil cases consisting of landlord-tenant disputes, breach of contract, and criminal cases.

When John Henry is not in the office, he enjoys running, playing guitar, collecting vinyl records, and hiking in the Rockies.
